Training

The training Department is mandated to create, promote and foster individual and Diocesan effectiveness by initiating, developing and implementing an array of skilled based, innovative diverse, and evidence based result oriented training programs in support of Diocesan Mission of promoting evangelical Christianity through teaching, nurturing, healing, caring and empowering all the members of the church and its community.

The department is headed by a Diocesan training coordinator governed by a training board and supervised by the Diocesan secretary.

To ensure creativity, skills and knowledge based learning to all staff through result oriented trainings in order to effectively perform their duties, gain competitive advantage and seek self growth so as to enhance Diocese development.

Specific objectives

Objectives are based on capacity building of staff to:

  1. Increase the productivity of employees for quality service delivery
  2. Ensure personal growth of employee skills
  3. Inculcate the sense of team work spirit for improved performance
  4. Help in optimizing the utilization of human resources
  5. Create a better corporate image of the Diocese.

Institutional Capacity Building

Under the program, our main objective is to implement a continuous process of professional trainings so as to generate new knowledge, skills within a holistic, practical and applicable context.

We provide the right trainings to staff for acquisition of necessary skills and knowledge to carry out their responsibilities to the best of their ability, increasing productivity, capabilities and quality of work. Trainings help us to demonstrate a commitment to staff development, share best practices, new lessons, initiate new ideas and programs, develop common working procedures and strengthen intern relationship among religious leaders, staff, departments, fellowships, churches and top administrators.

Monitoring and Evaluation

Under this program, we monitor and evaluate performance of our staff so as to identify best practice, new lessons and performance gaps that requires professional trainings so as to add knowledge, skills for quality work.

To achieve this, we work in conjunction and support of religious leaders, departments, fellowships, churches and development partners through staff performance assessments, appraisals, performance review meetings, support supervision visits, monitoring reports, seminars, workshops, retreats and roundtable discussions etc.

We meet our objectives by focusing on the following;

  1. Provide training opportunities that enhance knowledge, develop skills and enrich the Diocese.
  2. Provide and implement quality result oriented, cost-effective training designed to increase individual and organizational productivity and enrichment.
  3. Create, promote and foster a Diocesan environment that respects values and development, diversity and growth opportunities for all employees.
  4. Work with Research and Information office to promote, support and leverage technology resources and tools to improve and enhance work flow efficiency.
