As a Deacon, he was posted at Kabowa Parish under the supervision of the late Rev. George Wilson Sekitoleko who was the Parish Priest of Katwe Martyrs Parish. The Late Bishop Misaeri Kauma appointed him Diocesan Youth Secretary from 1988 to 1990 and thereafter joined Bishop Tucker Theological College for a three year Diploma in Theology from 1990 to 1993. After graduation He was re appointed Diocesan Youth Secretary from 1994 – 1995. The following year 1996, he was appointed as Vicar of St. Paul’s Cathedral by Bishop Samuel Balagadde Ssekkadde.
From 1997 – 2000, He pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Divinity at Uganda Christian University – Mukono. He returned to St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe and resumed his duties as Vicar. He was installed a Canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral Namirembe on 9th December 2007.
He married Faith Nakitende from Kiziba, Masuulita on 2nd September 1989. Faith is a teacher by profession and by then was teaching at Gayaza Junior School. Bishop Misaeri Kauma presided over their wedding. For the twenty seven years in marriage God has blessed them with 4 children: Esther Grace Nabbembe, Daniel Samuel Mwesigwa Mpalanyi Sekakubo, James Musasizi Mpundo and Faith Gertrude Nantume.
He was elected by the House of Bishops of the Church of the Province of Uganda (Anglican) to serve as Bishop of Namirembe Diocese on 21st February 2009. Thereafter he was consecrated and enthroned as the 4th indigenous Bishop of Namirembe Diocese at St. Paul’s Cathedral on 31st May 2009 – succeeding the Rt. Rev. Samuel Balagadde Ssekkadde who was Bishop from December 1994 to March 2009.
